randyhersom
Two Jeanne Lee's including the Mal Waldron duo. I already own them both. A downtempo Helen Merrill date for late night listening. And today, not jazz, but on my list - two by Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings - (recommended by JSngry)

Guest
Hi - Our entire catalog (approximately 170 titles) will all be on emusic in the next couple of weeks. Some of them, unfortunately, can only be downloaded in US and Canada as we do not control worldwide rights for some. Dave James
SS, I have the the Tampa Pepper/Paich on vinyl. I found it at a Goodwill store in Ellensberg, Washington. Paid $5.00 for it if I recall correctly. It's in nice condition. I've often wondered about its value. BTW, for what its worth, the LP has a yellow cover. As to the music, geez, for $.25 or so a song, it's awfully hard to go wrong. But, to set your mind at ease, the music is excellent...you won't be disappointed. Up over and out. BFrank
If you liked the music in the film "Broken Flowers", some of it is available on eMusic. That great, 60's-like tune with lazy female vocals that pops up a couple of times is on The Greenehornes' "Dual Mono" album. The tune is "There is an End", featuring the vocals of Holly Golightly. She has some albums there, too. I also found out that the haunting Etiopian music that you hear throughout (from Winston's CD) is there. It's on Ethiopiques Volume 4: Ethio Jazz & Musique Instrumentale 1969-1974.

Indestructible!
new over on emusic, worth the d/l? ← Hi SS1, Yep, definitely grab that Marsh date! While you're at it, Music For Prancing is also another great Marsh album on eMusic. As an aside: The other day, I was just starting to download my 90 tracks for the month (got about 9 tracks or so), when my account was automatically refreshed back to 90! It seems it was the last day of my account month, and so I basically "lost" 81 tracks! It wasn't on the normal day (usually the 28th or 29th of a month), so I was pissed! My message to eMusic asking that my 81 "lost tracks" be restored was answered within two days... and they did restore them for me! So, a big to eMusic's customer service! Cheers, Shane
Indestructible!
Oh, and any specific blues or reggae suggestions also gratefully accepted ← Hi All, I just noticed that eMusic has added about 25 more titles from the Blood And Fire label... some GREAT stuff included! My "sleeper" suggestion... try Trinity - Shanty Town Determination. I bought it on CD a couple of years ago, and it's been on heavy rotation ever since! Cheers, Shane
randyhersom
Good new stuff: Byard Lancaster's It's Not Up To Us features some good Sonny Sharrock in a rockish style, somewhat reminiscent of the Byrds Eight Miles High. Not a fusion date, but just a little rock influence creeping in. A live Sheila Jordan with Cameron Brown. Naxos Classical beginning to show up. Older, but still stuck in my CD changer is Memphis Blood: the Sun Sessions by James Blood Ulmer. Blues, not jazz, but raw and real and entrancing.
