bebopbob Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 I noticed that the Al and Zoot album issued on Coral Records in 1957 has benn issued twice on compact disc. I think the first CD issue was in the early 1990s and the second issue came out in 1998 as part of MCAs "Chessmate" series. Is there any difference between the two CD issues regarding sound quality and additional tracks? Quote

Chuck Nessa Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 My copy of the "early" reissue says it's mastered by Doug Schwartz in LA and it sounds just fine. Mr Keepnews performed a dandy bit of production for the 2nd cd incarnation by REMOVING the bonus track "Gone With the Wind"! Quote
