Tony Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 Just wanted to remind people. Tomorrow 25 May http://towelday.org/ Celebrating a great man. Its easy to be part of it Tony Quote
ejp626 Posted May 25, 2016 Report Posted May 25, 2016 I have to admit, this looked a bit like spam (spam, spam, spam, spam, spam!), but Towel Day is legit (if a lot more celebrated in the UK than the US). I actually had a towel with me all day today, but probably won't have room in my bag tomorrow. I may have to settle for a washcloth. I actually introduced my son to Hitchhiker's Guide this spring, and he certainly enjoyed it. I'm trying to find a bit of time to start rereading it myself. Quote
Tony Posted May 25, 2016 Author Report Posted May 25, 2016 Well you seem to know your british references My favourite Douglas Adams quote “I really didn't foresee the Internet. But then, neither did the computer industry. Not that that tells us very much of course--the computer industry didn't even foresee that the century was going to end.” Though there are many brilliant quotes. Quote
page Posted May 25, 2016 Report Posted May 25, 2016 Ah, I'm happy to wear a towel in honour of a writer if you all are. Hope he was a real good story teller. Welcome to the forums! regards, page Quote
Jazzmoose Posted May 27, 2016 Report Posted May 27, 2016 It's like "Talk Like a Pirate Day"; I never notice it until it's already gone... Quote
