Saw it yesterday - edgy!

Today saw The Sisters Brothers. Fairly true to the novel.

I liked it quite a bit. Touches of Tarantino. Took awhile for the story to come together but clicked when it did.

I really like the first 90 minutes but it lost me a bit in the last hour.  No reason for this to be so long.

I'm referring the Bad Times at the El Royale.  Haven't seen Sister Brothers though Ive read the book. Wasn't nuts about it. Jeeze I'm a grouch.

Foreign language? You mean like calling a cassette a "K7" or the trunk of a car the "boot"? That kind of foreign language? :g

I can't find much to criticize about that list. I've certainly seen far worse "100 best" lists over the years. Plenty of unimpeachable classics represented, but there's some newer stuff as well. It remains to be seen how those will hold up with the passage of time and increased historical perspective, but from where I sit, there don't seem to be any obvious howlers.

Edit: OK, one nitpick - no Melville?

Not "so bad it's good" ones, more like "so weird it's fascinating" B-jobs that come in under an hour and don't waste one minute doing anything that is not WTF?-ish in some form or fashion.

Delightful!
