That's just one piece of the center field renovation that's planned. They opted to postpone the renovations another season because they weren't going to be able to get everything done before the home opener this year. The timeline got shortened due to last season's playoff run and some other events that had previously been scheduled for the park. Quote
Scott Dolan Posted April 7, 2016 Report Posted April 7, 2016 Hmmm... So what happens when they go deep into the playoffs this year? Quote
Tim McG Posted April 8, 2016 Report Posted April 8, 2016 Giants come backer to beat the hated Dodgers today. 12-6. Woo-hoo! Quote
Soulstation1 Posted April 8, 2016 Report Posted April 8, 2016 Is 1 game win and 2 rainouts = a sweep?? Quote
Dave Garrett Posted April 9, 2016 Report Posted April 9, 2016 On 4/7/2016 at 11:53 AM, Scott Dolan said: Hmmm... So what happens when they go deep into the playoffs this year? It wasn't just the playoff run last year that was an issue, it was the combination of the (unexpected) playoff run and other events that they'd already committed to. As part of reworking the project plan, they almost certainly assumed a deep playoff run this year and presumably haven't scheduled any other events that might impact the renovation timeline. Quote
Scott Dolan Posted April 9, 2016 Report Posted April 9, 2016 So they had scheduled special events during the playoffs window? That wasn't very sensible on their part. Quote
Brad Posted April 10, 2016 Report Posted April 10, 2016 Mets hitting woes have carried over from spring training. Quote
Scott Dolan Posted April 10, 2016 Report Posted April 10, 2016 Still WAY too early to come to any conclusions on anything. Quote
Tim McG Posted April 12, 2016 Report Posted April 12, 2016 Giants take 3-4 from the hated Dodgers. Life is good. Quote
Brad Posted April 12, 2016 Report Posted April 12, 2016 Matz got lit up like a Christmas tree last night. Offense is worst in majors. Team needs to wake up. Quote
paul secor Posted April 13, 2016 Report Posted April 13, 2016 Girardi will burn out the Yanks' bullpen before the season is half over. Quote
Scott Dolan Posted April 13, 2016 Report Posted April 13, 2016 I thought the Yankees were intentionally going after the Royals bullpen model? Did they not load it enough? Quote
paul secor Posted April 13, 2016 Report Posted April 13, 2016 They have a good number of good pitchers in the bullpen, but if you only trust your starters to go 5 innings or so, the bullpen won't last. Quote
Scott Dolan Posted April 13, 2016 Report Posted April 13, 2016 (edited) Only if you only have two or three go to relievers, Paul. The Royals have changed that dynamic with a wall-to-wall bull pen. We barely squeezed five or six innings out of our starters last year. How did our pen look in the postseason? Trust me, it can work. Edited April 13, 2016 by Scott Dolan Quote
paul secor Posted April 13, 2016 Report Posted April 13, 2016 For the Yankees sake, I hope so. Time will tell. Quote

Tim McG Posted May 1, 2016 Report Posted May 1, 2016 I was at the Giants vs the D-Backs get away game last week. The last game of a sweep. Bad guys got us. Ugh. Still early. Quote

I think now you now why my Giants didn't aggressively go after him. He was more box office sales than a legit talent. Great glove man, a fair bat but attitude up the yin-yang. Food me. Funny how no one knew anything of a shoulder injury when he went on the DL, figured it was a case of "sucks - itis" and now he's facing shoulder surgery and likely gone for the season. Here's to a successful rehab, a solid 2017 spring training, and godspeed at his next destination when the Sox unload his salary for a (small) bag of equipment. Quote
