finally got this and it is another very strong release.

 

I have two small caveats:

"Professor Paul" - to my ears -is  not prime Rollins and I am surprised it is on the disc.   He sounds tentative and meandering (one of those infamous off nights for Sonny?)and I am guessing there is much better unreleased stuff than this.

"DIsco Monk" has wonderful solos....but the tune itself is not up to the very high standard I often expect from Sonny....and I don't see any connection to Monk either musically or any other way.

Nevertheless....I still love this recoding

The bridge is where the Monk is in that one, thar same note on top while the line underneath moves.

Took me a while to get that one.

Sonny will always be the ling in my ears on the tenor. "Professor Paul" is the weakest track on the CD.
