My better half convinced me to catch the Eagles last summer in Vegas.  I was pleasantly surprised by close to three hours and 27 songs that really took me back to the 70's in a comfortable, simple, close-harmony concert that had everyone singing along.  The harmonies were almost as tight, Walsh's guitar licks sounded fine without the alcohol and drugs.  Simple pop songs with a country edge are obviously a guilty pleasure for me.  Thanks for all the tunes, Glenn.

I saw the Eagles around the time of their first album.  They opened for someone at the Schaefer Music Festival in Central Park in, I guess, 1972.  Very surprising, very good, and very professional - didn't surprise me that they became so big.

RIP

Wasn't that aware of them in their heyday (apart from having a thing about 'One of These Nights' when it was getting lots of air play). Didn't care for their 'rawk' side but when I went through my country phase in the 90s I took to the softer side with all those harmonies - always a sucker for rich harmonies in any genre. I think 'Lying Eyes' is a gem of a song.
