Recorded late 1967 for Eterna .... btw what did you expect .... ?

I didn't expect something, just started to listen. It's not to bad, ... it's pretty slow but more significant it misses the poetic/idyllic almost idealistic touch this piece screams for (or is that just me ?!).

Someone else described this version like Neumann in the rol of a wise story-teller instead of a poet and i agree with him.

Although not a general rule (at least for me), I would see some Czech music more "at home" with a domestic orchestra .... in this case :

Recorded in February 1975 .... btw this Cover Art used for a Quadrophonic Reissue in 1981 ....

This recording hits the spot ! Delivers a transparant and stately performance despite being a little slow.

No, that Leipzig recording doesn't sound good to me.

I'm sticking with my Walter Klien Vox recordings. No "shade" on Uchida.

No disrespect to both artists mentioned .... but it's hard to miss on Friedrich Gulda .... btw and the sublime recordings by late Ingrid Haebler ....
