I bought all the LPs and CDs when they were new, otherwise I would have jumped at the box. He was very positive about it in a recent interview, except for the inclusion of the Haydn Concertini with Koopman, which originally were on Phlilips and had noting to do with Musica Antiqua Köln. This spring his book on the Brandenburg Concertos was published which he wrote during the pandemic. He is the most knowledgeable musician of his generation. Edited December 19, 2023 by mikeweil Quote

mikeweil Posted December 20, 2023 Report Posted December 20, 2023 Seasonal music: David Erler is an excellent singer doing a lot of research in East German archives, e.g. he is resonsible for the new edition of Johann Kuhnau's sacred music, Bach' predecessor in Leipzig, and took part in the recordings.
