Daylight seems to divert from my ability to really focus on most of these pieces, as tbe demarcations between beginning, middle, and end are kinda oblique sometimes. Not talking about Threnody either, that one is a warhouse by now, or at least how I came to know it, which was most every comp student and other "new mudic" person pimping it to anybody who would listen (and I would, and still wiill, when the occasion calls for it). Talking about the later works, strong melodic cells, strong developments of the, but without a deeper focus than I was able to muster today with all the sunlight outside, disengagingly disorienting in that evrrything starts to sound like a transition to and end that never arrives, or like an ending that had no beginning, something like that.
