The Berben disc was runed by recording in too large a room with the microphones placed too far from the instrument, which is always bad for the harpsichord sound, especially when the music is of a structure and density as Wilhelm Freidemann Bach's. And it depicts not the composer but his pupil in Halle, Johnann Christian Bach (1743-1814, not his half-brother but from the Thurigina Bach family branch).

What do you think about Ashkenazy's Schumann .... ?

I enjoyed it.  Anda's recording of Davidsbündlertänze remains my favorite, but this is still a very persuasive performance, as are the other works.

Of course, this is only after one listen.  So too early to really know.  ;)
