Askenase has an sophisticated approach and there is nothing flashy about his performances .... although there are some more impressive Chopin recordings in my collection, I return to this one quite often (and the remaining non Chopin features have their owns merits). For around EURO 30 (like offered here)

only heard the Walzes and i agree on; 'there is nothing flashy about his performances' . Just read some people think that he plays a bit to much rubato and misses some points ...

On the same line (maybe) with 'Harasiewicz'. I know you didn't enjoyed his recordings much.
