Larry Kart Posted July 23, 2020 Report Posted July 23, 2020 Many different recordings of Faure's Nocturnes. My favorites of the ones I own are Sally Pinkas' (complete) and Estaban Sanchez's ( a selection). Of the one I've heard, Albert Ferber's (a selection) and Sanchez. IMO avoid two that are frequently cited as top notch: Collard's (cold and athletic -- to borrow someone else's description) and Marguerite Long's (tinkle tinkle) Quote

Referentzhunter Posted July 26, 2020 Report Posted July 26, 2020 (edited) The version Messiaen himself liked the most. Edited July 26, 2020 by Referentzhunter Quote
