I always thought his Beethoven readings have a distant and cold effect on me. Some say they are warm what i never understood. Thank you for the information. His box sets of Beethoven sonatas and Schubert sonatas are among my favorites. The German composers are where he is at his best.

He was just a priest in a small town, nothing much is known about his life and musical activities, but had two volumes of his compositions printed, the first of which is nowhere to be found. The second contains over 100 organ pieces, about a third is on this CD. Excellent music, flawlessly performed on a perfectly suitable instrument. This is on the same high level as the organ books of Couperin and Grigny. Listening to this one. Very nice. And this organ has such a focused sound. Edited July 19, 2019 by Д.Д.
