Apart from the Siloti, the arrangements were new to me (Kabalevsky - who knew?!?), and I suppose some inevitably convince more than others. But the playing is great - real clarity! The C Minor Passacaglia, for instance, is really wonderful playing imho. Edited May 23, 2019 by Alexander Hawkins Quote

Д.Д. Posted May 27, 2019 Report Posted May 27, 2019 Prompted by Schubert 960 thread. Good performance, excellent piano and sound. Never liked this work (or Schubert in general) that much though, did not like it today either. Quote

HutchFan Posted May 27, 2019 Report Posted May 27, 2019 Scriabin: Piano Sonatas Nos. 3, 4, 7 and 9 / Igor Zhukov (Melodiya/Angel LP) How about that "decadent Western art" on the cover. I bet the LP jacket was different when Melodiya issued it in the USSR. Quote
