Good to know. I should have worded my query differently. You can certainly be serious and can sing and be joyful all at the same time.

Just Sinfonia (with the New Swingle Singers!). Eindrücke is a kind of once fashionable Darmstadtian serial piece that never interested me (disclosure: I enjoy certain serial works and composers, but it's not a big percentage of my listening).

Alessandro Scarlatti -- Opera Overtures & Concertos

Tight

-- Di Lisa and his Concerto de' Cavalieri focus on 17th and 18th Century Italian music, particularly Scarlatti. So these boys and girls are at minimum heavily studied in this stuff. This disc is part of a broader baroque project, as is indicated in the lower left of the image. Polished, for sure, but there's a lightness and joy that permeates this music. Very nice.
