Arguably the finest recording of these pieces, on a copy of a Nicholas Dumont harpsichord by John Philips. Excellent sound, too.

Agreed - dreamlike recording ....

Lars Vogt - For Children (Cavi)

Music programatically written for children and youth. But intended of course for adults.
You have dreamy miniatures of contemporary composer Thomas Larcher written exclusively for Vogt, some haunting Schumann and those knockout Bartok pieces.

Sven Vogt is  a remarkable young pianist. Simon rattle raved about Vogt´s touch. It´s truely sublime and this little gem of an album is proof.

BTW "For children" has the cutest cover pic I´ve seen in classical music...

Been enjoying this for quite a few years now. There only appears to be one other full CD devoted to Pulkkis. Surprised - it's contemporary but colourful and accessible.

SQ 1 again (using the Baedeker guide - wouldn't have noticed the second violin's wah-wah jazz trumpet effects in the third movement without it).

As previously mentioned .... IMO excellent performances
