king ubu Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 The entire series is out, I assume, *except* for the Colbeck, which was pulled ... I got a shipping confirmation for my SME order a few minutes after my previous post, and then went on to order the McNair and Shaw discs - spending way too much again on CDs lately. But as this is the thread with discussion of the entire series, while the SME thread is only two or three posts short (actually the last one by me, linking to this thread - before the news got out that the Colbeck was pulled), I thought it makes more sense to bring this one back up. Someone could likely change the title (without deleting the entire thread, preferably ) Quote
clifford_thornton Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 still waiting for Dusty Groove to have the ones I want in stock. Got the Colbeck LP many years ago for around $50, which was $50 well spent. It's a great record. Quote
Harbour Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 Here's what they look like, I have seen better OBI's. http://merurido.jp/topic.php?srcbnr=9069 Quote
sidewinder Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) Appropriate OBI 'E!' as in 'Eee Bah Gum I never thought they'd get round to reissuing this in my lifetime..' Edited May 18, 2016 by sidewinder Quote
clifford_thornton Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 The Prestige title threw me, though evidently it's not coming out. Were Universal Japan licensing some Concord titles? It's all so bizarre. Quote

In Europe, Universal is distributing Concord ... all those cheapo "Prestige Albums", "Riverside Albums" etc. sets are produced by Universal Italy. Not sure how that looks in Japan though. Quote

Yikes!! cheaper just to grab a Gene Shaw LP. Clean one shouldn't set you back more than $15. I did order the McNair. Quote
RogerF Posted May 19, 2016 Report Posted May 19, 2016 (edited) I've just ordered the McNair (Affectionate Fink) which is definitely available as at 18 May. In the UK try Amazon as it's much cheaper than Dusty Groove. Edited May 19, 2016 by RogerF Quote

king ubu Posted May 31, 2016 Report Posted May 31, 2016 Just giving the new "Karyobin" it's first spin - great to finally have it in a proper edition! Guess the second parcel (with the Shaw and McNair) will arrive in the next days, too (the SME package should also have contained the Colbeck, but I was too late in reconfiguring the order, adding another item or two to it).
