Tom 1960 Posted November 13, 2015 Report Posted November 13, 2015 Watching this scene unfold, my thoughts and prayers for the people of Paris. Stay safe. Quote
page Posted November 13, 2015 Report Posted November 13, 2015 Yes I feel that way too, Tom. It is beyond anything one could imagine. Quote
kinuta Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 Terrible indeed. I wish I could agree that thoughts and prayers are enough. I feel like venting my outrage with a revenge filled rant but will restrain myself in the name of board civility. Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 (edited) Yes, my thoughts and prayers to people in Paris.  The French will tighten  surveillance.  But you  cant watch everyone.  Edited November 14, 2015 by Hardbopjazz Quote
johnblitweiler Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 I just learned that my cousin in Paris and her daughter are OK, thank God. Quote
.:.impossible Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 I hope our Parisian members will check in when possible. Incredibly unsettling. Quote
JSngry Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 Minding your own business and having somebody pop up out of nowhere and fuck you up at random just because you're there and just because they can is never cool. Quote
medjuck Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015  Oscar Hammerstein wrote the lyrics after the Nazis took Paris. Quote
brownie Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 It was a rough  night.  Listened  to the news on the  radio, also to the sound of ambulances  rushing victims to hospitals. It's a new day.... calling  friends  to make sure everybody is  all right Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 Utterly dreadful. Started to hear about it on the World Service through the night. Very moved by the pictures I'm seeing this morning. Quote
sidewinder Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 (edited) Small comfort but at least more than a few of them will now be constantly chasing their own tails and getting paranoid over airborne noises. Fitting ! Edited November 14, 2015 by sidewinder Quote

jazzbo Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 It's scary to hear a commentator refer to this as "the new normal." A frightening evening, a horror for thousands, and I hope we don't see more. Quote
Cyril Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 My thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones...!!! Quote
mjazzg Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 A proud and beautiful city attacked by cowards. May its citizens be allowed to mourn without further attacks. Quote
Clunky Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 So very sad. It was an attack on us all. United we must stand. Quote

Jim R Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 Our wonderful and talented daughter graduated a few years ago from California State University Long Beach with a degree in design, and is now a professional in architectural/interior design.  She is so precious to us, and we are so proud of her. I just read that the first victim of these senseless murders identified as being from the U.S. was Nohemi Gonzalez, a 23 year old senior design student at California State University Long Beach. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/paris-lawyer-victim-identified-terror-attacks-article-1.2435000 As if all of this wasn't heartbreaking enough, this makes it hit even harder for me.  RIP Nohemi, and condolences to all of the grieving families and friends. Brownie, it's always good to see you posting here, even (or perhaps especially) under these circumstances.  So glad you were not hurt. Quote
GA Russell Posted November 14, 2015 Report Posted November 14, 2015 CNN reported earlier that the French President declared it to be an act of war. I guess we'll know soon what response, if any, will be made. Quote
