danasgoodstuff Posted October 11, 2015 Report Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/ornettecolemanlooks interesting, if kinda pricey. Edited October 11, 2015 by danasgoodstuff Quote
jlhoots Posted October 11, 2015 Report Posted October 11, 2015 $812 for the 4 vinyl test pressings. Fortunately I don't have a turntable.I could see myself going for the 2 DVD / 3 CD configuration. Quote
johnblitweiler Posted October 11, 2015 Report Posted October 11, 2015 Promising, yes. It would be better if the Caravan Of Dreams music was on CDs. In fact, a scholar-archivist-recordist needs to listen to Ornette's collection of tapes, identify the musicians and dates, get permissions, and arrange for the release of all that music on CD. A few years ago (well, more than a few) I'd been eagerly awaiting the imminent release of the Ornette-Ayler-Tyler-Fred Lyman session (ca. 1965) on CD. Denardo probably knows about this aborted project. Quote
JSngry Posted October 11, 2015 Report Posted October 11, 2015 So, this is essentially a release of the one concert, correct? Or what else? Quote
clifford_thornton Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 I can't really imagine throwing down that kind of change for the boxed set... or hey, pay an extra $100 and get a sealed copy of "In All Languages," a $15 value! Sheesh... The archival material, on the other hand, is truly enticing and I hope one day more of it can be released. Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 Track listing? Who's on what track(s)? Exactly what's in this thing?Could be very interesting, or maybe not quite as interesting. Hard to tell.Curious though. Quote
