Sad news to come in from work to. What an inspiration and a stalwart on the UK scene he was. Some landmark recordings there with Joe Harriott and Michael Garrick. Great biography too in which he came across as a gem of a guy. Electrical Engineering's loss was British jazz's gain. RIP - I will spin 'Movement' tonight.

Just recall that the last time I saw him was at the Ian Carr tribute, in the front row (he was introduced).

I only know of him from his Joe Harriot stuff, but as with all the players who were involved in that thing, the courage and musicianship involved just to get it started, never mind to move it along, are inspirational.
