AllenLowe Posted September 9, 2015 Author Report Posted September 9, 2015 well, pretty much as soon as I get 'em and can assemble the digi-paks; they will probably all be ready at about the same time - Quote
danasgoodstuff Posted September 9, 2015 Report Posted September 9, 2015 Allen, make sure you let http://www.ayler.co.uk/ know about Ballad For Albert for their Ayler-related music section. Quote

xybert Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 Got mine today, thanks! Skimmed through and first impressions are very good... I actually didn't intend to do any proper listening tonight but i started listening to the album with DJ Logic (Man With Guitar) and got hooked, am about half way through now and yeah this is great stuff. relyles Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 I received my package over the weekend. Since Allen suggested it may be the unexpected sleeper of the bunch, I started with When A Cigarette is Smoked by Ten Men. Glad I did. It is excellent. As Allen stated on another thread, the Young Ms. Christiansen is particularly impressive, but the recording in its entirety is a very cohesive and thoroughly engaging document. Today I moved to We Will Gather When We Gather. I listened to the first half of the disk during my morning commute. Much "straighter" than I anticipated, but so far all the soloists are in fine form. Thanks for all this music Allen. I still regret that I was unable to get to Brooklyn this past Sunday, so it is very consoling to be able to immerse myself in these new discs for a while. Quote
king ubu Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 Got my package today - and did the same, "When a Cigarette Is Smoked" went into the player right away - and it's good indeed! Thanks a lot, Allen, looking forward to exploring the wealth of music! Quote
king ubu Posted October 20, 2015 Report Posted October 20, 2015 okay, now playing "Man with Guitar", and inquiring mind wants to know: why does "Slave Rebellion" use the changes of "Besame Mucho"? Quote
AllenLowe Posted October 20, 2015 Author Report Posted October 20, 2015 seemed like a good idea at the time.... Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted October 21, 2015 Report Posted October 21, 2015 What an amazing bunch of music. It will take some time to digest. Thanks Allen. Quote
AllenLowe Posted October 21, 2015 Author Report Posted October 21, 2015 well, it's about 2 years worth of composing. Tough living up here, but the end is, I think, near. Quote
