Hardbopjazz Posted September 4, 2015 Report Posted September 4, 2015 (edited) Two weeks ago I saw Geri Allen at the Vanguard. Jimmy Cobb was supposed to play drums. She said he was ill and we all should send good vibes and hope he gets better. I was going to see him tomorrow night at Dizzy's Club, but that was just canceled. Let's send some good vibes as Geri Allen suggested.Get Well Jimmy Cobb. Edited September 4, 2015 by Hardbopjazz Quote

king ubu Posted September 6, 2015 Report Posted September 6, 2015 Sorry to hear this - shook hands with him a few years ago (2009?) after a concert he gave with local guys (tenor saxophonist Roman Schwaller, with whom he recorded, too) - he seemed pleased to to hear how much I enjoyed his playing and was very kind indeed, but was ushered away a second later to take some silly photos with those that organized the concert and some sponsors and crap. Felt like he'd rather kept chatting a bit ... Quote
