Something seemed wrong from the get go so I compared Let It Be and Hootenanny to my originals and confirmed what sounded like a different take / mix. Sure enough, I found a thread on the interwebs (Hoffman, I think) that confirmed that Rhino used the same digital masters as the 2007/2008 CD's which included edits, truncated tracks, and all sorts of butchering.
