Yes, but Mike, the link in my second post says that anyone can sign up for a free 30-day trial period, and then cancel before being billed.

I got emails from both Amazon UK and Amazon Germany this morning announcing this and urging me to sign up for Prime. Guess they're just blasting out emails to anyone who's ever purchased from them and isn't a Prime member in the respective countries.

The free 30-day trial is a clear indication that this is all about getting more people to sign up as Prime members, figuring that once they've tried it, they'll be hooked, thus guaranteeing more recurring revenue for Amazon.

So far I find Amazon's sales to be less appealling than their everyday specials.

Here's a sneak peek of what will be on sale tomorrow.

Walmart has decided to have its own big sale tomorrow.

Somebody tell me where it says that I'm entitled to get everything as cheaply as possible no matter what all the damn time.

That soundss like another one of those DevilTruths to me...like  Freedom's Just Another Word For Nothing Left To Pay,.

Me and Bobbie McFree, yeah, we gonna rule the world some day.

The question is: what did Amazon promise or allude to, vs. what did they deliver.  Sounds like they delivered bupkis, therefore they deserve the criticism.

For me the timing was perfect. My printer died yesterday and I was about to order a new one but decided to wait ... and today it was $25 cheaper!

Even better, Best Buy also dropped their price by $25, so I bought from them because I could pick it up today.

I recommend that you take a look on Twitter at #PrimeDayFail.

"For me, Prime Day is still about family."

That's really funny!

I see that Amazon is going to try "Prime Day" again this year, this time on July 12.

I have to think that they have learned their lesson, and that this year's will be much better.  If not, I think they will break Twitter!
