David Ayers Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 My favourite battle. Bit gory obviously but nice uniforms and a couple of merry quips from the Iron Duke. I reckon most killed in a day's battle was Borodino and Waterloo is runner-up somewhere. Wot larks, eh? Quote
king ubu Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Abba did the soundtrack, right? And did the fighters look more like ISIS or like Mad Max or isn't there any difference anyway? Quote
David Ayers Posted June 18, 2015 Author Report Posted June 18, 2015 Yeah you laugh. But when the inter-cantonal wars kick off again don't come running to NATO... Quote
Big Beat Steve Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Might turn political faster than you think ... They say that France's Hollande was mightily p....d off when Belgium launched a commemorative coin in remembrance of the 200th aniversary and they eventually melted it down again. A case of "powers-that-be", I wonder? Quote
king ubu Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Yeah you laugh. But when the inter-cantonal wars kick off again don't come running to NATO... actually just today I caught news that they - finally! - found some stuff on the grounds where the mythical battle of Moorgarten might have taken place (if it took place at all) ... we've got some lovely jubilees to celebrate, including the Marignano disaster which led to French vassalage but is celebrated by the right as birth of neutrality ... but actually indeed, some or the other Saubannerzug might be a rather healthy development compared to today's official politics ...
