We might seem a small set of islands but the range of varied landscape is striking. Don't do what most people do and spend too much time in London. It's an interesting city but there is so much more (I say that as someone who visited the USA once and only left Manhattan island to walk over the bridge to Brooklyn for an hour or so!!!!). Tim McG
Sounds like good advice. TBH, I love the history of the buildings and such in a city, but the shoreline cliffs and scenery of the inland intrigue me the most.

A Lark Ascending
Birds in flight around the flooded River Ouse, York on 8 December. Photo taken by Jess Clark http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/features/35039847 A striking picture; not of much use to the thousands who have had the live's turned upside-down by the floods, though.
