Teasing the Korean Posted February 21, 2015 Report Posted February 21, 2015 (edited) These guys are touring. In light of Stevie Wonder's recent Songs in the Key of Life tour, is it wishful thinking on my part to expect an early-70s, clavinet-through-wah-wah, Fender-Rhodes-soaked Sun Goddess funk frenzy? Or is it more likely I will be seeing two aging guys doing a tepid set of R&B chestnuts and smooth jazz? Edited February 21, 2015 by Teasing the Korean Quote
chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 k i passed on this when it came even though i love VB and Ramsey Lewis, tix were in the 50+ range and i saw VB on a latenite over the air show a wk prior, he sounded like completely different, i think....of course Sun Goddess, one of the greatest records in fusion, Lewis has been touring RL Electric Band "sungoddess tour" a few yrs ago, i saw it twice, was very good although RL really only played a teeny tiny bit of rhodes the whole set, everything was g. piano but sun goddess title track sounded great, the bass player did the vocal. uli Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 the bass player did the vocal. My man Josh Ramos!? Teasing the Korean Posted February 22, 2015 Author Report Posted February 22, 2015 Well, I checked out some YouTube vids and I was underwhelmed. Philip Bailey does the "point the mic at the crowd" schtick and has them sing. I could probably get into this show for free, but I'd rather spend the night at home listening to LPs. When I used to DJ, this album was perpetually in the crate, for this track: Quote
