Milestones Posted January 7, 2015 Report Posted January 7, 2015 It's amazing this sat in the can all these years. The record (very lengthy in running time) is from is from a 1990 concert. These are two of my favorite musicians. Both tended to favor playing softly, but to be sure these were two highly creative musicians. I lament them both. I was lucky enough to see Haden in concert, but I never did catch Hall. Eight tracks: two compositions by Haden, two by Hall, one by Ornette, one by Monk, two standards. Just great stuff. Listen to "Down from Antigua" to see what Hall was all about and why he was one of the most distinctive guitarists of all time. Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted January 7, 2015 Report Posted January 7, 2015 I too think this is a marvellous disc. Sometimes when you hear these discs put out long after the event you can feel 'well that was nice but...'. But this one really held my attention. Quote

medjuck Posted January 7, 2015 Report Posted January 7, 2015 I've been playing this a lot. Love it. Quote
StarThrower Posted January 8, 2015 Report Posted January 8, 2015 Just picked it up at a local store last weekend. I had this one, and the duo album with Jarrett in my hands, and I put the Jarrett back in the rack. I'm enjoying this concert very much, even though there is an annoying amount of noise in the right channel. Quote
Milestones Posted January 8, 2015 Author Report Posted January 8, 2015 The duo with Jarrett is quite good too. Quote
