Teasing the Korean
Does anyone happen to know how many orchestrations there are of this piece? I don't mean every orchestration ever, but frequently performed or recorded versions. The one I know is by Lucien Cailliet. Is this the main one? Does anyone have more than one orchestration of this, and if so, do you have a favorite? Chuck Nessa
Can't believe Deodato or Don Sebesky passed this up.
Larry Kart
Don't know who arranged it, maybe Bernard Herrman himself? If anyone has the LP (a London Phase Four disc, "The Impressionists"), it probably would tell all:
Teasing the Korean
Thanks for that. The version that was cut from "Fantasia" uses a different orchestration than is typical, with two flutes playing the opening melody:
xybert
I really like Tomita's version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ajSyyzIC_8
