brownie
Michael Cuscuna who is currently in Paris for the release of the superb book of Francis Wolff photos by Flammarion/Yellow Korner mentioned at a news conference that Mosaic was planning to put out a Beehive box in 2015. All Beehive sessions would be in included except for the Johnny Hartman disc.

Head Man
I'm not familiar with what was released on Beehive ..... but I guess that's the attraction for Mosaic. Highlights anyone?

jazzbo
As I heard said a million times in Texas, but never quite as truly said, "It's all good."
ejp626
Now this is some great news. I have Starfingers on LP, but otherwise don't have or have even listened to the rest of the catalog. Some great looking sessions. I haven't been doing a lot of pre-ordering from Mosaic lately, but this might be an exception.
Van Basten II
This is a case where not having the original cover art won't be a problem,. Seriously this is an intriguing collection, labels anthologies always fascinate me.

I don't know what the unidentified sessions are but I have 5 or 6 of theses sessions on LP. On the other hand, I didn't know there were so many releases. This looks like a 9 or 10 CD set. Wow! JohnT
Michael Cuscuna told me it would be 2 6-cd box sets.
Justin V
Just looking at the rhythm sections on those records has me drooling.

kh1958
I only have the Junior Mance/David Newman on LP, and it's quite good. I'm definitely interested in this set.
jazzbo
I was going to list highlights. . . but every one that I have heard (most of them) is very good. These are going to be great Mosaic sets!
jlhoots
It'll be my first Mosaic purchase in a while.
felser
I've never been wowed by any of what I heard on this label, even though the personnel stood out. I'm on the fence, probably leaning toward passing.

Kevin Bresnahan
Finally!! I've been trying to get Michael to do this for years and years. I've even asked Mark Sheldon to work on getting owner Jim Neumann to do this with Mosaic. I am very happy that this is coming to fruition. There's some great stuff in that catalog. Clunky
I've a modest number of these on LP and I've not heard a dud
JSngry
Not a dud that I've heard, at least not yet. I've picked them up whenever they've shown up. And the Dizzy Reece w/Clifford Jordan & Charles Davis is serious.
The Magnificent Goldberg
I only have the Junior Mance/David Newman on LP, and it's quite good. I'm definitely interested in this set. That's the only one I have, too. I was quite excited when I saw the thread title, but looking at the list that Soulpope put on earlier, I see the only other one I'm interested in is the Arnett Cobb. Oh well. Better start looking on e-bay. MG
Peter Friedman
This is just the kind of set for Mosaic. Often Mosaic sets include things that have already been reissued on CD. But the Bee Hive material has not, to my knowledge, shown up on CD anywhere. Another similar concept would be for Mosaic to put together a set of the many Xanadu sessions that have not made it to CD. Some Xanadu things were reissued on CD, but a large number have not.
jazzkrow
Great news! Glad that Jim Neumann has finally agreed to release this material. Thanks, Jim!.....

parroja
Michael Cuscuna told me it would be 2 6-cd box sets. So it will be 2 separate mosaic sets?

I assume because it was issued over the two "Bridges of Madison County" soundtrack cds from that movie? gregmo
