Hardbopjazz Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) I was given a private recording of a Bobby Hutcherson show with Dwayne Burno on bass. Damn, he was good. Sad he died so young. Would anyone have any recordings with Bruno that would be worth getting? Edited November 16, 2014 by Hardbopjazz Quote
CJ Shearn Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 Yes! Joe Magnarelli Live at Smalls, also happens to be the final recording of Mulgrew Miller who has lots of room to stretch out. Quote
kh1958 Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) The last time I saw him live was with Mike Dirubbo; he was a very fine bass player. Viewing a couple of obituaries, one says he's on 150 recordings, and another says 50, but with no list. He's on Roy Hargrove's Nothing Serious, which is worth obtaining. xybert Posted November 16, 2014 Report Posted November 16, 2014 I like the Jeremy Pelt albums that i've heard him on, The Talented Mr Pelt being my favourite. Straight ahead main stream stuff but the group kicks arse in my opinion. Quote
