A Lark Ascending Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 (edited) Noticed this in this month's fRoots: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U._Srinivas I'm only an occasional listener in the musical area he worked in but remember him making a big stir outside the world of Indian classical music in the 90s and playing his CD a great deal. He was also in Remember Shakti with John McLaughlin at one stage. Only in his mid-40s; way too young. R.I.P. Edited October 18, 2014 by A Lark Ascending Quote
7/4 Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 Sad news. He died a few weeks ago, complications from a liver transplant. Only 45! I love the album Dream he did with Michael Brook on Real World. Quote

LarryCurleyMoe Posted October 20, 2014 Report Posted October 20, 2014 WOW! Sad news indeed. I was honored to emcee his SPICKMAKAY recital here many years ago. He was a master of Carnaric Classical. Quote
king ubu Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 Very sad indeed - saw the group live once, a few years back, and he was pretty fantastic! Quote
CJ Shearn Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 Way too young! RIP. I believe he is on "Miles from India" which I still like very much Quote
