With Lee Konitz and Terry Gibbs also celebrating birthdays today, it is a great day to appreciate some of the music's living masters. I saw Pharoah Sanders at last year's Detroit Jazz Fest and he was so much fun to see live. I'll spin Meditations or Ascension today. Here's wishing Mr. Sanders a happy birthday.
