I have had several responses to my call for 2015 Blindfold Test presenters. Many thanks to those who have responded. I think that we have had a series of Blindfold Tests in 2014 which are very strong musically, and now 2015 looks like it will be a big success too. She is reacting to this news:

February colinmce
March Tom in RI
April Dan Gould
May Daniel A
June Hardbopjazz
July Thom Keith
August Spontooneous
September The Magnificent Goldberg
October Homefromtheforest
November jeffcrom
December felser

As you can see, we have some spots available.. So keep that look on her face--jump right in and sign up! Just send me a Private Message. All of the months of 2015 are now covered. Thank you for volunteering

If you have not done a Blindfold Test before, Thom Keith will help you with any downloading assistance which you may need, and I can discuss Blindfold Tests in general with you.

I'm curious about the download thing. Back in my day we used to mail a CD out. :w

How is this being done?

Thom Keith is handling all download questions as part of our joint administration of the Blindfold Test this year. Thom, can you please respond?

However, I can tell you this. If you want to do a Blindfold Test and do not know how to put it on a download, you can do what I do. I burn a CD-R of my Blindfold Test, taking care to remove all identification of song titles and artists, and then mail it to Thom. He converts it into a download for you and it can then be sent out to the members. Just about everyone receives the Blindfold Test by download now.

We'd love to have you as a Blindfold Test presenter again!

Huh, the things that can be done with technology these days. I'm kicking around the idea of doing one but have to be careful not to commit without making sure I'm up to the task. I'll let you know what I settle on.

Thanks

My previous (and only) BFT was in 2004, and I haven't followed the tests since soon after that. However, I'm thinking of presentijg a test again at some point. I would like to ask, now when there have been more than a hundred tests, do the presenters go through all previous tests to make sure none of the tracks have been used previously? Or maybe it's no big deal since the participants have changed so many times?

I am not sure what others do. Sometimes I will do a Search using the name of the artist or a word from the song title, searching only in the Blindfold Test forum.

I'm not keeping up with this forum like I used to so maybe you've been around constantly, but it was some time since I saw posts from you. Anyway, nice to see you here, catesta!

I'm thinking of maybe applying for the May test.

I just started putting my toes back in the water after spending a few years away from here. Thanks

Luckily they are warm, soothing waters, not shark infested!

I thought I was the one for March 2015? I had requested this one earlier this year when Jeff was running this and was slated for March.

I am trying to accommodate everyone and make everyone happy. I did not mean to slight you. I do not see that posted anywhere. Can you point out where that is?

If I missed it, I apologize. I can't find that listing for you for March.

Do you want to take November, 2015?

I went through my old messages, and Hardbopjazz did indeed ask me for March some time back. I thought I had everything up to date when I turned over the reins, but I guess this detail got lost in the transition. Apologies to Hardbopjazz.

I would suggest that Hardbopjazz be given March, Tom in RI move to June, and I'll move to November. That seems like a solution that won't put anyone out more than a few months.

I have discussed this with Hardbopjazz privately. I am going to move jeffcrom to November and give June to Hardbopjazz.

We now have all of 2015 covered. Thank you all for stepping forward and volunteering.
