Indestructible! Posted August 23, 2014 Report Posted August 23, 2014 (edited) Early in Bruce Lundvall: Playing by Ear, an authorized biography by Dan Ouellette, published this year through ArtistShare, theres a retelling of a conversation between a teenage Mr. Lundvall and his father, who was a mechanical engineer. Bruce told him: When I grow up, I want to be in the record business. The reply: Son, youll have to choose one or the other. Good story, and a great quote! Edited August 23, 2014 by Indestructible! CJ Shearn Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 Great article! Lundvall and Was really helped turn BN around from the Butler era disaster. I feel like Was holds much closer to the original philosophy of Alfred Lion and Frank Wolff, although like I said a while back, the Blue Note of today marketing wise seems to be a redux of Blue Note Hits a New Note in a way, except the quality of the music is much better tastes notwithstanding.
