BFrank Posted October 23, 2020 Report Posted October 23, 2020 Maybe I'm late to the party, but I just realized there are a lot of classic SteepleChase albums available for streaming on Amazon Music. Quote

Kevin Bresnahan Posted March 10, 2021 Report Posted March 10, 2021 Does anyone know if Steeplechase has announced anywhere that they are switching to CD-Rs? I recently received a batch of 7 Steeplechase CDs and one of them was a CD-R. Quote

bertrand Posted March 10, 2021 Report Posted March 10, 2021 Older titles are definitely CD-Rs. Are the new titles not CD-Rs? Maybe they are doing real CDs for the first pressing and CD-Rs after. Quote
Pim Posted March 10, 2021 Report Posted March 10, 2021 Some of the ‘older’ cds I bought recently are definitely not CD-R’s. Must depend on if they are still in print or not? Quote
jazzmusicdepot Posted March 12, 2021 Report Posted March 12, 2021 Instead of putting them out of stock they ran some small cdr's pressings of older titles. I will have a list of which ones are cdr's soon. I don't think they will be doing that anymore. Quote

I wonder who the lineup is on that new Alex Norris date? (I don't suppose it happens to include Gary Thomas, by any chance? -- Gary was on that one other recent Norris CD from a few years ago.) Though, regardless, I'm curious -- Norris is a great player. Quote

Ari Ambrose on tenor on this one, no Gary Thomas. Quote

sonnymax Posted April 5, 2021 Report Posted April 5, 2021 Thanks for the heads up. I wish Bob Rockwell would record another album for SteepleChase. Quote

I've never heard of him. I guess that's one of my incentives in posting these releases - these are working musicians who don't get much attention or promotion, and I'd like to know more about them. If I could afford them, I'd buy all these new releases...instead, I keep my ears open to see what's out there. Quote
JSngry Posted April 5, 2021 Report Posted April 5, 2021 Has Riley always played a King? I'm glad to see him with hair, too! Quote
