spinlps Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 Can we? I've tried cutting and pasting the Instagram "Embed Code" but just get the iframe link, no pic. Here's an example of the Embed Code: <iframe src="//instagram.com/p/qxGuZiEiVO/embed/" width="612" height="710" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowtransparency="true"></iframe> Quote
colinmce Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 I could be wrong, but I find that Instagram makes embedding pretty impossible. I've had luck doing this: 1) Go to the instagram website and log in 2) Go to the 'page' for the picture you want 3) Right click 'View Page Source' 4) Down a ways you will find a url that ends in .jpeg That's the url for your photo. 5) Copy this url and paste as usual. That's how I was able to do this: Very convoluted, I know. Maybe there's a better way? But for some reason IG doesn't encourage this. Quote

They make it as difficult as possible because they want to keep users inside the walled garden of the IG ecosystem as much as possible. Remember what was originally said about Facebook (which now owns IG), and which is equally applicable to many other social networks: "If you're not paying for it, you are the product". Quote
spinlps Posted July 29, 2014 Author Report Posted July 29, 2014 Thanks, guys. I wonder if there's an IG "plug in" for the forum software that would allow the Embed Code to display correctly? Oh well. I'll have to go pic-less for now. Quote
