it says vinyl record, (but its only 19.98, isnt that a little low for them?)

this has been on my wishlist for years, ive always thought cornbread as a slightly "muddy" or "dark" quality to the sound, id really love to hear what could be done w/ this. i really hope this release turns out to be on par w/ the other releases (eg sidewinder 45rpm set)

"While these new versions will become available in Digital Hi Def, CD and the Mastered for iTunes formats, the allure of vinyl records is WAY too potent to ignore. This year, Blue Note - along with our friends at Universal Music Enterprises - is launching a major 75th Anniversary Vinyl Initiative that is dedicated to the proposition that our catalog should be readily available at a low cost - featuring high quality pressings and authentic reproductions of Blue Note's iconic packaging. Beginning in March 2014, we'll start rolling out five remastered vinyl reissues every month. Although this program begins in celebration of Blue Note's 75th Anniversary, our catalog runs so deep that we will faithfully be reissuing five albums a month for many years to come!"

Anyone know what month/year the CD versions of these new Blue Note masterings come out?

Don't know if this will help, but Bernie Grundman explains how he had to repair the master for "Newk's Time".

Very interesting !

Imagine working as an electrical engineer/'resident genius' in the tech department at that place. You'd never get any work done..

I think, even though I'm not a vinyl person it's very good they are doing this. Watching the Don Was interview, I felt he was very genuine in the endeavor of this project and it will be interesting to hear the alternatives.

If asked to choose between Cornbread & Dippin', I'd ask for some buttermilk and get busy having 'em both.

I don't even like buttermilk, but it's not about what I like, it's about how to get what I want out of the available options of any given point in time. So, ok, it takes buttermilk. I'll take some buttermilk then.
