GA Russell Posted May 18, 2014 Report Posted May 18, 2014 I'll be the first to admit that I've been out of touch for years, but am I the only one here who has never heard of Baccara? http://luufy.com/site/post/574?utm_source=m#.U3gzJXYmSUk Quote

Big Beat Steve Posted May 18, 2014 Report Posted May 18, 2014 (edited) I'll be the first to admit that I've been out of touch for years, but am I the only one here who has never heard of Baccara? http://luufy.com/site/post/574?utm_source=m#.U3gzJXYmSUk "Yes Sir ..." was BIG over here and drove me NUTS whenever I had to hear (i.e. endure) it, not only because of the sloshy vocals and background sounds but because of the ABUSE of the word "boogie" (disregarding its non-musical connotations for a moment ) to this budding jazz and R&B fan. They could neither boogie nor woogie for the life of it but still disco-minded teen music consumers over here were firmly sold on the idea that THIS was what (musical) "boogie" was supposed to be. danasgoodstuff Posted May 18, 2014 Report Posted May 18, 2014 So, how much money has White Christmas generated for Irving Berlin and his heirs? Even if it's jujst a few cents per copy sold, thats times 50 million for Bing's recordingplus all the other versions - what, 50 to 100 million more? Intellectual property, better than owning real estate... Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 I'm surprised there's no Michael Jackson in there - nor Supremes, Temps, 4 Tops, Springsteen, Madonna, Bee-Gees or Beatles.I WAS surprised to see the Inkspots in there, though.MG Quote
