I mean, you watch old tv shows and sooner or later (and the older they are, the sooner it will be), there will be Peter Leeds.

At some point, I just had to stop calling him "THAT guy!!!!!!!!!" and learn his name, who he was, because, yep, there he is again, Peter Leeds.

I mean, damn, that's a gig a day (@ 7 days a week) for almost 22 years.

The name rings a bell from the '50s radio shows, but I can't think of anything specific.

PS - OK, now that I've taken the time to read your Wikipedia link, I know that I know him from Stan Freberg's radio show.

Funny, when you posted the pic, I thought he looked a bit like Leslie Nielsen...

I too stumbled across him, more for the name...I think the cable channel TV Guide(or something like that) ran half hour best of Johnny Carson shows a few years back, and I would hear Ed McMahon announce the guests for the clip show..and was forever hearing Peter Leeds...who is that? I would say to myself. Myself didn't know...so I had to dig around.

Makes one wonder...the 8000 shows...sorta like when I read about the 24 gazillion records(more or less) that Chick Bullock was supposedly on...No proof of the fact, but there it is in black and white.

I see he was part of the Mighty Carson Art players. Just see how many times his name comes up in 1975 alone....hmmm, perhaps 8000 shows isn't too far off!
