GA Russell Posted April 26, 2014 Report Posted April 26, 2014 (edited) Here is a fun thing - a map from the Times showing where the baseball fans are located. I don't see any Mets or White Sox fans. And I am surprised that the territory of the Texas Rangers fans is so much greater than that of the Houston Astros. Apparently the grey space throughout the country represents Yankees fans. http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/04/24/upshot/facebook-baseball-map.html?_r=0 Edited April 26, 2014 by GA Russell Quote
johnblitweiler Posted April 27, 2014 Report Posted April 27, 2014 I'm going to my first White Sox game of the year later this week. Quote
Matthew Posted April 27, 2014 Report Posted April 27, 2014 I would have thought the Cardinals cutting a wider swath of fanship, as they were the southern team for so many years. Plus, I've always found the Braves one of the dullest teams to watch. Quote
BruceH Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 So anyone who doesn't have a big league local team to root for falls back on the Yankees? As if they were the national baseball default setting? Sad. But the map looks likely, for the most part. Quote
duaneiac Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 There are not a majority of A's fans anywhere in the Bay Area, not even in Oakland. Sadly, that explains a lot. Quote
