mjzee Posted February 21, 2015 Author Report Posted February 21, 2015 I just came across Oregon's touring schedule. It seems they only play in Europe; their one non-European date in the last 3 years was in, of all places, Oregon: http://oregonband.com/tours/ Quote
danasgoodstuff Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 Glen Moore used to play 'round Puddletown pretty regularly, haven't noticed him doing that as much recently. But then, I Don't Get Around Much Anymore. Quote
7/4 Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 I just came across Oregon's touring schedule. It seems they only play in Europe; their one non-European date in the last 3 years was in, of all places, Oregon: http://oregonband.com/tours/ Seems like I heard them play at Birdland about two years ago. That's not a tour if they play for a week in NYC, I guess. Quote
clifford_thornton Posted February 23, 2015 Report Posted February 23, 2015 Liked Glen Moore's playing but couldn't get into the band's music. Oh well. Quote

CJ Shearn Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 I am not that familiar with their catalog at all really but their most recent album on CamJazz is really nice. I like what they do, a lot. Quote
7/4 Posted March 24, 2015 Report Posted March 24, 2015 (edited) Glen Moore has left the band, his replacement is Paolino Dalla Porta. Announced on Facebook today. from Mark Walker: "Oregon News: Glen Moore has chosen to permanently leave the group Oregon. He is acting on his long held desire to pursue his individual vision of music. He also wishes to spend more time with his family. While we will miss him we respect his decision and wish him well. The group will continue with two of the original members: Paul McCandless on oboe, english horn and saxophones; and Ralph Towner on guitars, piano and synthesizers. The percussionist Mark Walker, a member of the group for the past nineteen years will also continue to perform in the ensemble. This has given us an opportunity to invite world renowned bassist Paolino Dalla Porta to join us on our Spring tour. Paolino has a long list of international credits and has recorded and toured with Paul on several projects in the past. He is very much in tune with the music of Oregon, and is very enthusiastic for the opportunity to join us. - Ralph, Paul and Mark" Edited March 27, 2015 by 7/4 Quote

mjzee Posted February 8, 2018 Author Report Posted February 8, 2018 Was listening to the Woodstock album (yes, the 1969 festival, 3-LP set), and found the Woodstock Wiki website. Turns out that Glen Moore and Ralph Towner played at Woodstock, backing Tim Hardin: http://woodstock.wikia.com/wiki/Tim_Hardin Quote
