Scott Dolan Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Of course, we all do. But that's all he ever presented here, and that still pissed off certain people. So that's what I was saying, let's keep pissing them off. Not rude at all. It's a pat on the back for aloc, and a finger in the eye of his haters. Quote
erwbol Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 I think there sometimes is a general unpleasantness about the atmosphere on this forum. It's an uninviting place. Becoming more belligerent is a necessary survival trait. Quote
sonnymax Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 At this point, it's probably downright stupid of me to admit that I was one of the people who was annoyed from time to time with the sheer volume of aloc's miscellaneous threads. More often than not, they were about random things he found on the web that others here weren't particularly interested in, as evidenced by the fact that rarely did anyone respond to the OP. I don't believe the few comments I made about about this habit of starting three, four or more such threads a day were necessarily "snarky", but some may have been, and for that I apologize. What did turn quite ugly was the backlash against such criticism, which targeted specific members and became quite personal. I'll welcome aloc back if he decides to contribute to the board again. Personally, I'd prefer that he try to create and participate in discussions that engage other members, rather than just "cut and paste" something from the web. Again, that's just my personal opinion, and I'll withhold any negative comments if old habits persist. In the end, I hope there's enough room in our community to allow for different voices to express themselves without the unnecessary vitriol. Quote
AllenLowe Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 glad he's back; snarky happens; as a matter of fact, before the frontal lobe was removed, I was the king of snark. Quote
7/4 Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Years ago, I used to be accused of posting unnecessary shit. Imagine: starting a thread to stimulate discussion on a discussion board. I didn't even notice alocispepraluger102 was missing. Quote
mikeweil Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 It always takes two before anything goes out of hand - I always try to remember this before posting about something I dislike ... Quote
JohnS Posted March 15, 2014 Report Posted March 15, 2014 (edited) Just realised a day or two ago that Aloc hadn't posted for a while so a welcome post. Glad you are okay and good to have you back Aloc Edited March 15, 2014 by JohnS Quote

johnblitweiler Posted March 16, 2014 Report Posted March 16, 2014 Aloc, I hope you weren't covered in snow and ice there in Ohio. Quote
skeith Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 Aloc is a great guy in my book.... did me a very kind favor a few years back. Quote
PHILLYQ Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 Aloc is OK by me. It took me awhile to realize the clever name! Quote
Scott Dolan Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 I've always wondered what his username meant... Quote
Scott Dolan Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 Hahahaha..., thanks. That IS pretty clever. And quite the tongue twister forwards. I remember the first time I saw it I sat there for a minute or two trying to figure out how to pronounce it. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 Back in the day his avatar was a reversed image of a neon reproduction of a bottle cap. Quote
JSngry Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 And his full user name was alocispepraluger. Quote
Teasing the Korean Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 Bumping this thread. Anyone talk to alocispepraluger102 lately? I see he has not visited since 2014. Quote
paul secor Posted July 19, 2017 Author Report Posted July 19, 2017 I miss him and wish he'd return, but sometimes people just move on to other things and other places. Quote

T.D. Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 He used to have a blog iirc. Might be able to find the URL by looking up old posts. Quote

AllenLowe Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 he did leave, as I recall, because a few people (for reasons I will never understand) objected to his threads. Jerry is a great guy and posts on Facebook. Quote
Scott Dolan Posted July 19, 2017 Report Posted July 19, 2017 People essentially accused him of flooding. Yeah, he posted a lot of threads. So? As far as I know there is no limit on how many threads one can post. He posted things that he found interesting. What the hell is wring with that?! Quote
