I have it on a 20 year old (or so) Japanese LP - Jimmy Smith: Special Guests. I'm sure that it's been issued a time or two on CD since then. Good stuff! Matthew
I love The Incredible Jimmy Smith at Club Baby Grand vol. 1 & 2. Has a rougher feel than "Small's Paradise", it's better recorded, and Smith is HOT!
scottb
One last reminder, Righteous Buddha in Austin this weekend (the 18th) at the Flamingo Cantina. Apparently there is an Austin City Limits Festival going on so there should be plenty of good shows over the wekend in Austin.
Bill Nelson
More on the Austin Fest scene: next day (Sun. 9/19) catch Antibalas at Zilker Park. Just saw 'em last night. Eleven musician ensemble (w/ 4 horns) who can really pound out Fela Kuti like no one else (incl. 'Semi' Kuti). A very solid and tight group held together by an incredible bass and two funky guitars, Antibalas is serious in respecting the mantle they're running with: politics and groove. They'll destroy any floppy-goofy jam band that shares the bill during the Sunday show. Antibalas is sure to play at a theater near you, as they're on-the-road for the next two months. Matthew
This is one of my favorite Smith cd, just has a nice, funky feel to it and France adds some very good playing to the date. I have the JRVG, and the sound is excellent.

Jim Alfredson
We play pretty much every tune on that record. Paris Eyes, Back-Up, Ritha, Tyrone (although that has been replaced with "Young's Dream" for obvious reasons). Good stuff.
Big Al
All of 'em. Not a bad one in the bunch, and probably my favorite Sam Rivers record to boot!

Jim Alfredson
Jimmy looks like he's playing piano in that shot that ss1 posted. That doesn't look like a Hammond to me.
