I have a like new CD version of the set on the way to me as shamefully I've lacked most of his Atlantic recordings. I've heard of a few defects, should I be concerned?

I have both the original CD box set and the vinyl version. This is important music in my listneing world!

I did just open my copy of the budget box and it contains a very nice 74-page booklet. Never saw the booklet in the original set but this one is just fine - essays, lots of photos, discographical information. Pretty good actually.

just curious. I checked amazon and didn't see a new version of this great set. I have the 95 box, which I still am enjoying 18 years later

Yeah, seems they translated the digipack and "can" boxes into cardboard sleeves. The original edition has a hardcover book, no idea if the new one has, too ...

The new booklet is soft cover, but nicely printed on good paper, full color.

The original edition also had a booming bass sound.

I'm more excited about the Hybrid SACDs of Coltrane's Atlantic albums ORG Music Group is scheduled to release. Their SACDs of Rollins' The Bridge and Coleman's The Shape of Jazz to Come were fabulous.

Apparently Org Music has canceled all their upcoming releases. That seems to be the case, places that had them for preorder no longer do.

That's a blow! Do you know which SACD titles were released before this cancellation? I believe My Favourite Things was released early on. Are their LP releases also cancelled?

Edit: Just found your post on this matter on the Hoffman board, Lon. It's sad ORG decided to call it quits with the SACD format.

Probably the latter.

I have the earlier version; that one was mastered by Gene Paul.
