GA Russell Posted November 20, 2013 Report Posted November 20, 2013 I have purchased the Dragon software program to enable me to dictate to my computer. Now I need to buy a microphone to use with it. I suppose I need one whose pickup is of sufficient quality that the software will correctly understand what I am saying. Any suggestions, especially from experience? The ones I see at Amazon have reviews which typically discuss their use with skype, which I'm not sure is relevant. Thanks! Quote
Jerry_L Posted November 20, 2013 Report Posted November 20, 2013 (edited) One of my colleagues just got one to use for Microsoft Lync conference calls, but he hasn't used it yet. I may need to get one soon myself. I have no experience with Dragon, sorry. Edited November 20, 2013 by Jerry_L Quote
mjazzg Posted November 20, 2013 Report Posted November 20, 2013 I'm certainly not a computer guru but I did buy this one for a volunteer at my workplace who needs to use Dragon. It worked well enough.although after 18 months (one day a week usage) it did begin to fall apart. Maybe no surprise given its low cost http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000WFX5RI/ref=wms_ohs_product?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Quote
GA Russell Posted November 23, 2013 Author Report Posted November 23, 2013 Thanks mjazzg! I noticed that one of the reviewers of your suggestion recommended the Microsoft. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000J4WPW8/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=RVSBV717YT9&coliid=I2FJCRM3HPUSVI http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00906E03I/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=RVSBV717YT9&coliid=IG0VHCG8QH17O Apparently none of the headsets lasts very long, but these Microsoft ones have highly respected microphones.
