GA Russell Posted October 14, 2013 Report Posted October 14, 2013 Here's another beer list, this time for Oktoberfest and Thanksgiving. I have heard of some of the breweries, but none of these beers. Anybody here tried any of these? http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2013/10/07/6-fall-seasonal-craft-beers-for-oktoberfest-thanksgiving-and-beyond/ Quote
jeffcrom Posted October 14, 2013 Report Posted October 14, 2013 I've had the Dogfish Head Punkin Ale. Every beer I've tried by this brewery is fabulous. Quote
danasgoodstuff Posted October 14, 2013 Report Posted October 14, 2013 I've had this year's Jubelale and thought it wasn't quite as good as it sometimes is (it varies a lot, year to year). Usually prefer Full Sail's Wassail or Pyrimid's Snow Cap, but not always (they vary too, but less so). Quote
Big Wheel Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 I love Deschutes's beers in general but have never enjoyed Jubelale. The first time I tried FS's Wassail I really liked it, but wasn't quite as impressed the second time around. Still haven't yet sampled the Sierra Nevada Celebration ale yet. Quote
Jim R Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 We had friends over for dinner last night, and one of the beers brought over by my friend was a Deschutes Jubelale. It was the first one we poured, and I thought it was delightful. I can't recall for certain if I had tried it in the past (I too generally enjoy anything from Deschutes). Quote
Tim McG Posted October 20, 2013 Report Posted October 20, 2013 (edited) I'm kinda partial to the Anchor Steam Christmas Ale:http://thoughtfullibations.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/img_0670.jpg?w=342&h=458The Newcastle Winter IPA is pretty good, too:http://ts4.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.4840841635235847&pid=15.1 Edited October 20, 2013 by GoodSpeak Quote
GA Russell Posted December 22, 2014 Author Report Posted December 22, 2014 Here's a new list of Christmas Ales and winter beers. Has anyone tried any of these? Any thoughts? http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2014/12/22/8-winter-seasonal-craft-beers-for-holidays-and-beyond/?intcmp=features Quote
Sundog Posted December 22, 2014 Report Posted December 22, 2014 I'm kinda partial to the Anchor Steam Christmas Ale:http://thoughtfullibations.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/img_0670.jpg?w=342&h=458 Ditto. IMHO this years vintage is the best batch they have made in the last 10 years and that's saying something. Every flavor is balanced perfectly. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted December 25, 2014 Report Posted December 25, 2014 Not Xmas beer but I really like Rogue's Good Chit Pilsner price went from $6 to $8 at Total Wine Also picked up their 7 Hop IPA Quote
catesta Posted December 26, 2014 Report Posted December 26, 2014 While not a big fun of most micro stuff, I did enjoy these. Winter Bourbon Barrel Brown and Starry Night Stout. Both are from Grand Canyon Brewing Company. Quote
GA Russell Posted March 6, 2015 Author Report Posted March 6, 2015 Here's a list out today of recommended new beers. For the most part, these types of beers don't appeal to me. But I do like stout very much, and Foothills is from Winston-Salem, so I'll try to find that one. http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2015/03/06/best-new-beer-releases/?intcmp=obmod_ffo&intcmp=obnetwork Quote
