king ubu Posted October 12, 2013 Report Posted October 12, 2013 This is very cool news! Not sure though why Parker gets co-billing when this is the regular Illinois Jacquet working band of that time. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted October 13, 2013 Report Posted October 13, 2013 Because Parker plays about the same amount as Jacquet. Quote
king ubu Posted October 13, 2013 Report Posted October 13, 2013 Because Parker plays about the same amount as Jacquet. Have you already heard it? If that's indeed so, the news is all the better! He's heard for too short a time on most studio cuts, but time restrictments wouldn't apply live, so yeah ... sounds great! Quote
tomatamot Posted October 13, 2013 Report Posted October 13, 2013 Wow! Must have! If a Lp available, me too. Quote

ejp626 Posted October 13, 2013 Report Posted October 13, 2013 This looks pretty amazing. I may actually hold off and put it on my Xmas wish list, since I generally have so little impulse control there is not much left to get me when the holidays roll around... Quote

John Tapscott Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 it's out of stock everywhere ... where did you get it? Haven't got this one yet, but I always get my Uptowns right from the source. I'm sure it's in stock there. http://www.uptownrecords.net/home/ Quote
king ubu Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 (edited) I like doing that, when it makes sense financially (meaning I don't pay substantial extra), but with the recent raise of overseas shipping, it doesn't sound like that smart an idea ... 40$ for two discs isn't prohibitive, but still on the pricey end of the spectrum. Thanks bichos, might order from jpc, then ... got to get some classical stuff from there anyways, but nothing that couldn't wait a moment ... I'd love to hear the Jacquet real soon, though! (And the Duke Pearson, too!) Edited November 14, 2013 by king ubu Quote
jazzbo Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 Got mine, but haven't listened yet. Looks great! Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 In stock at Amazon UK. Thought I'd better push the button on it, if it's out of stock in many places. MG Quote
Big Beat Steve Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 Thanks for the hint, MG. Did so too and hope it wil ship as soon as they promise there. This is amazing. I checked this item at amazon.de last weeke and they had it for preorder as it was supposed to be released here on 18 november. And now it already is "currently unavailable" and we haven't even reached 18 Nov. Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted November 16, 2013 Report Posted November 16, 2013 Coming from the US and not yet sent. Fingers crossed. MG Quote
John Tapscott Posted November 16, 2013 Report Posted November 16, 2013 Appears to be in stock at the moment at cduniverse. I just ordered one. Supposed to ship in 1-2 days. Usually I order directly from uptown, but this was a better price and less for shipping, since I ordered something else with it. http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=9056442&cart=1511494723 Quote
medjuck Posted November 16, 2013 Report Posted November 16, 2013 I ordered it from Amazon US and they claim I'll get it Tuesday. Quote
