jazzbo Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 A new Hathaway box set on the way that looks great! Quite a bit of "new" material, and all collaborations with Roberta Flack: http://donnyhathaway.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/never-my-love-anthology-new-4cd-box-set.html Quote
felser Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 Looks like it's designed to be a compliment to the basically-perfect "Someday We'll All Be Free" so count me in! Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 Wow! I'm definitely in! Quote
kinuta Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 Me too. Thanks for the heads up. Quote

l p Posted December 9, 2013 Report Posted December 9, 2013 (edited) the funky tunes on the live cd3 -at the bitter end, nyc 1971 are as good as the funky tunes on 1972 'live' album release (recorded 1971). but on this new material, the bass guitar is muddy, and is in the background. doesn't seem that they were able to get the multitracks - sound quality is completely different. willie weeks' bass solo on 'Voices Inside' is not nearly as good as on the well known version. as for hathaway's mellow tunes, well, they just suck.
